This untitled work features a large vase of pink, white and wine coloured oleanders sitting in a window. Behind the still life, a view of what seems to be a countryside landscape can be seen. Many of Connell's paintings were executed as a part of his interior design process, and his style is known for a decorative approach to colour use and composition. His works such as this untitled piece also reference his vast knowledge of tropical flora, as he was a keen horticulturalist. Connell's love for West Indian flora was also evident in the time and attention he devoted to the development of the Barbados Horticultural Society, where he was very active, serving as its president in 1952 and again in 1962
