Again, Dodson skillfully paints the frayed edge of fabric so that the painting is of a fragment of what could be a much larger landscape painting on canvas. To the left in the foreground of this fragment, are two elegant royal palms that stretch beyond the confines of the painted swath of fabric onto the tinted white background that frames the scene. Beyond these palms are open fields rendered in tones of green, yellow ochre and lilac. In the distances are clusters of trees and emerging from these are four white houses and four palms. In the upper section of this painted fabric is a brilliant blue sky.
