Postmodernism Well Installed

1998

Postmodernism Well Installed is a bold, high contrast allegorical print that shifts between light and shadow. The subject is a lounging full figure female, sitting open legged, full glass in hand and wearing underwear. She is surrounded by object such as an eaten plate of food, a flipped coconut tree framed by a fence, a solitary statuesque male figure, and a vignette of the sea. This juxtaposition of images is a critique of the "anything goes" materialistic attitude of postmodernism and the self indulgent characteristics of tourism.
